President's Corner
Thank you to everyone that celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Title IX with WISE Tampa Bay! We held an exceptional event at Amalie Arena featuring a sneak peek of ESPN Films’ “37 Words,” a 4-part documentary series, chronicling the hard-fought battle for equal rights in education and athletics from award-winning directors Dawn Porter and Nicole Newnham, as well as a keynote from City of Tampa Mayor, Jane Castor and a dynamic discussion with Kimberly Davis, Senior Executive Vice President at National Hockey League, Sue Moucha, a Four-time Team USA Paralympia, and Shaniya Benjamin a Track and Field Student-Athlete at the University of South Florida. ESPN personality and softball Hall of Famer, Michele Smith moderated the evening.

As I sat amongst the 300 plus attendees I thought to myself;

" How many of these women played in a sport and have built their careers thanks to all the WISE lessons one learns when playing on a team or participating in a sport?"

Thus, I took the time to watch the (4) full episodes of Title IX thanks to OnDemand ESPN -Spectrum and was blowen away with how much more I learend. Title IX is not just about women, it truly is to make our communities, corporations and individuals as a whole flourish into the incredible human beings we are ment to be. 37 Words are truly words to live by. Thank to all who supported this incredible evening!
